Mrs. Anna Warren

About me

I have been teaching for a little over 20 years, but this will be my first year at Target Range in Missoula, Montana (my most favorite place). I am thrilled to be the new 7th & 8th Grade ELA teacher, and I cannot wait to get started!

My husband, Tommy, and I have two daughters. My oldest is in her fourth year at the University of Montana, and my youngest is in her second year at the Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech). Go Griz! Go Jackets! We also have a very cute pup named Charlie Petunia who is 17 years old! She loves being a mountain dog.

This summer my husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by moving from Athens, GA to Missoula, MT! Best anniversary present ever!

I look forward to working with the students at Target Range. You can reach me via email or phone if you need me for any reason.

What you can expect in 7th & 8th Grade ELA this year

Language: This year all 7th and 8th graders will be expected to proficiently use a variety of language tools including but not limited to: figures of speech, Greek & Latin affixes and roots, varying sentence structures, and specialized reference material.

Speaking & Listening: This year both 7th and 8th graders will be proficient in using a variety of speaking and listening tools that will help them to present claims, acknowledge and present new information, report on findings from analyzed text, and adapt speech to a variety of contexts.

How we can work together

I am a strong believer in students learning to advocate for themselves. Therefore, I encourage my students to reach out to me in class or via email if they have any concerns or questions. Assignments are posted daily via Google Classroom. Parents are welcome to contact me via email or by phone. I also communicate with students and parents alike by posting grades on Infinite Campus throughout the year.

QUOTE

“The simplest way to make sure that we raise literate children is to teach them to read, and to show them that reading is a pleasurable activity. And that means, at its simplest, finding books that they enjoy, giving them access to those books, and letting them read them.” Neil Gaiman
